A down-on-her-luck mutant from Sharkhead who signed on to become a test subject for some quick cash, Carla Girard found her powers - special venom that was mildly toxic injected by specialized keratinous growths on her skin - amplified a thousand-fold. Taking a name from her favourite flower, Odontonema cuspidatum, also known as the firespike, she set out to make a name for herself, and maybe get a little revenge while she's at it.
