History

The Pandora Project was set up in December 2002 as one of Paragon City's technological "think tank" by Dr. Damian Dearnly and Dr. Amandine Lyard.

Occupying an old renovated brownstone in King's Row, it attracted researchers both promising and established, such as Dr. Aloysius Fitzgerald Zeilla, Robert Melton, Dr. Elaine Williamson and Dr. Gustav Heller.

It also employed its own small security force, headed by Kenta Yamada, the former Paragon City hero known as the Golden Samurai.

One of the Project's main field of study was the growing number of super-powered individuals making their home in Paragon City. It did research work for G.I.F.T., M.A.G.I., S.E.R.A.P.H. and especially D.A.T.A.

The Pandora Project came to a brutal halt on May 21st, 2005 when its main compound was attacked by what appeared to be 5th Column troops. Most of the employees of the Project were killed during the assault, including Drs Dearnly and Lyard. The survivors, led by the daughter of the late security chief, managed to make their way to Crowne Memorial Medical Center as the Emergency Medical Teleport network had been taken off-line during the event that became known as the "Power Crash".

Several of those survivors answered the invitation issued by Ms. Yamada to join the newly-reactivated Super Group, W.A.T.C.H., and became the core membership of that organization.
