In-Game Bio

Pennie Power led a full life even after she left the spotlight of child stardom.

Although the tragic loss of her arm limited her actions as a hero, she remained a vocal advocate for heroes and victims alike and never quite gave up on adventuring. She founded over 30 heroic studies programs at universities around the world, has "assisted" on countless Portal expeditions to alternate universes, and so many rumors of time travel persist about her that some circles even address her with the title of "Mender."

5 years ago she withdrew from the public eye entirely.

Her book, I Mistook You for Somewhen Else made the case that the human mind was ill-equipped for experiencing vast numbers of alternate timelines or dimensions. It coined the term "Alt-timers" for the erratic mental state seen in so many time-traveling or dimension-hopping mad scientists. Many see it as an autobiography of sorts.

If asked why she chose now to return, she'll only explain, "It's time."

Background

Losing her left arm put Penny Power's hero career on hiatus for a few years. Her body continued to send her energy-fist manifestation to the missing limb, destroying prosthetic and cybernetic alike (and even causing considerable damage to the stump in extreme cases) until Rikti tech was repurposed to shunt the energy away safely, creating a shield-like energy manifestation. This allowed Prof. Power to re-join the depleted hero forces after the 1st Rikti war and provide much-needed relief to the city.

(more to come)

Notes

Prof. Power and Pennie Power are often played interchangeably, as Pennie's time-travel exploits overlap Prof. Power's current timeline.

Prof. Power will often react to people with familiarity- sometimes friendly, sometimes hostile, sometimes with details right and sometimes dead wrong. She'll then get flustered and apologize, sometimes using lines like.

  • Sorry, maybe that's a later thing."
  • No... that was another you. (types a quick note on the datapad)... that makes... 19?"
  • "Your hair's different this timespace."
  • (points to a limb) Is that cybernetic or a cloned graft or... oh... (scrawls on the datapad) wait...the Carnie / Malta thing.. hasn't happened here... or yet, maybe, has it? Nevermind.
