While many are taken aback by the ridiculous appearance of Sentinel 02, there is no denying the (almost angry) energy and dedication she brings to her work.
Sentinel 02 is establishing a small but growing presence as she dual wields her pistols, armed almost wholly with non-lethal ammunition. Endearing herself to her teammates with her cool under fire, protective almost motherly instincts/behavior, and work ethic.
\\ AFFILIATIONS
> The Sentinel Program:
- A joint contract between the PPD and ATC, where the ATC provides prototype supplemental meta level personnel at economical cost. A compromise between the expensive and often unreliable 'Super Serum Super Soldiers' of the past and the needs of the PPD for agents that can handle meta-level threats.
- Thus the Sentinel Program was born. A combination of Gene Therapy and Chemical Cocktails that acts as a catalyzer, enhancing (or triggering) low-level or latent mutant genes. While the process has been considered an overall success it still experiences an approximate 98% candidate failure rate.
- While all successful subjects also experience physical enhancement, there are significant side-effects:
- o Enhancement of male/female primal aspects and attributes
- o Hormonal (over)reactions
- o Decreased intelligence
- o Continued unstable mutations
- In Males, this has caused significant over-aggressive tendencies and reactions leading to the lone successful male applicant being temporarily restricted from field duty.
- All Candidates must undergo weekly Psych Evaluations and twice-weekly chem and gene 'refreshes'.
> Paragon Police Department (PPD):
- Coming from a long line of Police Officers, finding their origin back in Boston, Derryl joined the force with high expectations.
- Her promising career was cut short when lurid and degrading private videos of her and her superior at the PPD were leaked online. Her superior was given a slap on the wrist and she was summarily terminated.
- The videos have damaged her reputation and credibility amongst the PPD though she maintains a few steadfast friends and allies.
> Paragon Girls Club (PGC):
- The PGC was a short-lived small business begun by Barry 'The Boss' Bauswell and his partner in crime, Finn 'The Rat' Fein. The company pulled together low (power) potential meta capable beings and initially provided them as rent-a-cop style 'security' for those that couldn't afford real security.
- They eventually discovered they was more money in dressing them as fancy, if scantily clad, security for events that needed pretty faces as window dressing rather then real security.
- The company was eventually bought out as part of a larger deal by ATC and their employees given the choice to be laid off or join the Sentinel Program.
> Aerie Tech Corporation (ATC): "The Sky's the Limit!"
- A relatively 'young' Aerospace company making a name for itself with 'out of the box thinking' and 'innovative solutions' that has recently branched out into other arenas, including meta enhancement.
- Orion Meta Industries floundered financially after it was discovered the owner, Dr. Howard Mansell, was actually the Arch Villain, Dr. Mindfold and was using the company to test radical new procedures and serums on unsuspecting victims. This opened the door for their acquisition by ATC and refinement of their Gene Therapy and Bio-Chem Cocktail process. Now with Federal approval, they've moved into human trials.
- Their current 'Sentinel Project' being their largest and most significant profit-potential contract to date.
