Ensorcelled is a man who keeps his inner demons rather external. A man brimming with magical potential and untapped aptitude for the arcane. 'Sorc' as he refers to himself is a man from England who appeared on the public meta-human scene around the time of the first Rikti war. He appeared in England, Wiltshire at the time of the invasion, and as a teenager was seen fighting Rikti ground forces with hordes of demons at his side. A particularly unsettling sight for the local population of the UK, many of whom didn't know whether to run from the would-be Sorcerer or the Alien invaders.
Following his initial appearance, Sorc continued to be present on the UK Meta-Human scene for a few years before vanishing for several years, only to re-emerge in the United States in Paragon City.
Ensorcelled can often be found fighting the Circle of Thorns, Carnival of Shadows and Rikti. He is an expert in all things magick, and us generally available to any who need assistance via Atlas Parks MAGI offices.
In the beginning...
Between the ages of the 6th and 7th Century AD, there came to be known a Coven, but not in the traditional sense of Witches. This Coven, started as all things do, with good intentions, though time, political pressure and the ever changing landscape of the growing world would cause the Coven to drastically re-evaluate its plans.
The Coven was initially a small group of people, men and women, who discovered they had an aptitude for the arcane. They would become known as Healers and Seers, and the local villagers would come to their township to seek their aid and counsel. Over the years, the local villages began to see the Coven as less of a helpful group, and an enemy to be destroyed, believing the Magicians to be hording their magic and preventing the common man from thriving. It was towards the end of the 9th Century AD that the Coven would be attacked by the locals, and near all but a handful of their number would survive the massacre, running and fleeing into hiding.
Bloody, beaten and seeking Revenge, Nura Wright, screamed, offered her immortal soul and that of her descendants and called out to the darkness, and the darkness answered in kind. That night, the entire population of the village of Halmstead was wiped off the face of the earth in a rampage of beasts torn from the depths of hell, with Nura at the forefront of the assault. There were no survivors, and on the ruins of the village, would Nura go on to build The Conclave, her Magnum Opus. She would raise generations of spellcasters, all following in her Dark Lord's name to one day return her people to life and bring back those she had lost.
Over the coming years, Nura raised generations of mages. Some would go on to fill the ranks of the Conclave, others, would be absorbed by Nura to continue her long life. Throughout all of this, she never let her ambition die, she would see her people returned.
Centuries later a child would be born into The Coven, now known as the Conclave, this child was born with red hair, blue eyes, and was full to the brim with magickal potential. This boy, was named as Orion. Orion grew and learned quickly within the ranks of the Conclave, his magick was without parallel within the Conclave... however, it was not the magick they held in esteem. Nura's people were destroyed due to their ability to heal, and thus, restorative magicks were outlawed from the Conclave and the teachings therein, Orion however, was born with a natural affinity for us magicks and a compassion for all living things which Nura could not abide.
Nura took it upon herself to teach Orion directly, the millennia old Witch refused to allow Orion a moments peace until his magicks were twisted from healing, to harm, however he would not break. He mastered summoning rituals, demonic rites, possessions, dark magick, teleportation, flight, basic incantations, but when Nura tried to bind his healing magicks, she failed, she deemed Orion a lost cause and prepared to have him sacrificed as a failure to the Dark Ones.
As luck, for want of a better word, would have it, a completely different otherworldly force decided to intervene. As Nura began her rights of sacrifice, the Conclave was crashed into by a falling Rikti Dropship, and Orion fled from the Conclave walls. He emerged into a world he had never seen before, to see Alien invaders attacking innocent people. It was at this moment, that Orion made the choice, he would protect those who could not protect themselves, and he would use every ounce of his magick to do it.
With a wave of his arms, he drew his demons to his sides, and charged into the fray...
APPEARANCE
Ensorcelled stands at around six foot one inch tall. He has a muscular build, red hair which is always neatly styled and a well groomed beard.
The man is classically handsome, from what can be seen of his face. His accent is thick, and he often is found missing letters of his words in his speech patterns.
Sorc is seldom seen out of his hero outfits, and if he ever is seen in his casual clothing, he is always wearing a visor. The visor is enchanted and will disrupt technology and tracking spells that are designed to find him. Sorc usually wears a mix of Black, White and Gold costume colours as well as a black cape with red interior. His outfit is often described as a modern-magic-mix.
