Waclaw Kritchinsky was born in Phoenix, Arizona (USA) in 1988, the only child of Stefan and Maria Kritchinsky, with two major handicaps.
 
First, he suffers from [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Achondroplasia achondroplasia], a genetic disorder whose primary feature is dwarfism.
 
Second, he is a mutant. His mutation manifested itself when Waclaw hit puberty in 2003 when he started emitting dangerous levels of radioactivity. As a result, his parents were approached by the scientists of [[The Pandora Project|the recently established Pandora Project]]. The latter created a unique suit of body armour for him in exchange for letting them study the boy. As a result, Waclaw stayed as a long-term inpatient until late June 2020.

Even before his confinement to a protective suit, Waclaw was an introverted child who exhibited self-image issues and bouts of depression.


After the destruction of the Pandora Project, Waclaw decided to stay in Paragon City and fight the criminal elements plaguing the city under the name of '''Kreetch''' (his high-school nickname). He was the first of its former patients and employees to be contacted by Hana Yamada to join the newly-reformed super group W.A.T.C.H., and he helped Hana restructure the group from a worldwide anti-terrorism agency to a more community-focused support group and information clearinghouse. After serving as one of the group's cornerstones for many years, he accepted the position of Director of W.A.T.C.H. after Hana temporarily left the team in 2015. He stayed on as Director until the group disbanded in 2019.

Most of Waclaw's powers derive from his armored containment suit, powered by his body's natural radioactivity. Specially programmed nanites maintain the suit's integrity and functions. Waclaw could even program those nanites to reconfigure the other suit layer to match the colors and patterns of the Hero Corps' uniforms.


Waclaw's unique mutation has transformed him into a sentient mass of radioactive plasma.  
In addition to keeping his radioactivity in check, this suit increases Waclaw's strength and durability to meta-human levels and enables him to fly.
