Biography

This frail woman, little more than a tortured soul, trapped in a meaningless existence, cursed with an inability to end her own suffering, persistently keeps moving forward for the mere thought of inactivity comes with tormenting thoughts that gnaw on her very soul. The destination is of little consequence, the purpose of her unrelenting pursuit of nothing in particular naught but the burning sensation it brings to the muscles in her limbs, for physical pain is such a wonderful relief when it serves to run parallel to mental anguish. The biggest irony and cruelest twist of fate though, is that her body forgot how to become scarred and the ones that form a twisted nexus across the canvas that is her fractured mind are left without company, destined to forevermore fester on their lonesome. Being trapped between the realm of flesh and that of the unknowable afterlife only accelerated their growth, having bent this waifish thing's remaining slivers of sanity into a projection of an unseen h͍͒o͆̒ͥr̤̀͊͊r͙̱͈̟̫̉̌͑o̤̘̩̪̠̐͜ṙ̯̦̳͚̰̠̯̍ that awaits beyond the veil. The empty white that makes up her eyes, as well as the streams of some eldritch, tar like seepage that escapes them are, just as her echoing, hollow voice, testaments to the bleak, pitiful existence she is forced to live, which assumes that this twilight state can even be deemed a form of life in the first place.

The individual known as Lunar Spectre (real name Katarina Zimmer) is wanted for manslaughter, robbery with the use of super powers, vandalism and a variety of other crimes. Due to her her ability to teleport vast distances in the blink of an eye she is remarkably hard to track. Her ability to project negative energy at short to medium distances and her regenerative abilities make her a dangerous enemy to engage, especially in close quarters. She seems to fully feel the pain of wounds being inflicted to her, even if they close themselves within seconds. She can temporarily be stopped by conventionally lethal methods, but she always fails to meet true death, rising back up after at most a minute. Heavy trauma to her brain seems to result in partial memory loss. Her approach to combat, which makes it almost seem as if she seeks out physical harm, indicates that she might be severely depressed and mentally unstable. During incidences involving her that have civilians present at she scene, she appears to make an effort to scare them away instead of actively harming them, though will do so if they get in her way. She has no hesitation whatsoever to kill anyone that tries to stop her from achieving whatever goal she might have in mind. When faced with an opponent that outclasses her, she usually flees relatively quickly, teleporting away. She appears utterly immune to being influenced by psychic powers and when observed on the astral plane, her soul appears abnormal, like a pitch black void. People that have been in close contact with her noticeably had slightly lower levels of serotonin. Prolonged exposure might lead to clinical depression.

Katarina Zimmer used to be a German immigrant to the U.S. that was due to receive conditional permanent residency as a result of a planned marriage with a U.S. citizen though the emotional turmoil caused by the sudden break up with her fiance caused her powers to accelerate and leave her in the state she is to this day. She soon after fled to the Etoile Isles, starting her career as a criminal, seemingly for no other reason than looking for something to do.
