"This is PLN-Paragon Light News - The number one source in finding out the new and upcoming heroes in Paragon City." The camera shifts toward an armored suit hero that stands 8ft tall. The sun reflecting off their gold plated suit that seems to be missing pieces and in disrepair in several places. "This hero calls himself "Proto Gear". A simple name if I do say myself" The camera show Proto Gear walks off, pieces of his armor falling off mostly in an ash like substance. "He is always working on his armor but he aims to be another light for our citizens here. Touching and Inspiring. Let's hope we see more of them"
Alex is a mutant that was born into the Family. After her mutation developed, first she was held up high and pampered, but when she failed to control her powers. She was thrown out of the Family, all ties cut, when she was 15. For several years she worked on controlling her powers and gaining own personal connections. Nowadays, she runs a shipping/smuggling operation in the Isles and Paragon. Business runs through her veins and she sees the value in everything, especially people. Because of this, despite living in a harsh environment she doesn't like killing if can help it, and can have a heart of gold even if she denies it.
She does moonlight as the hero "Proto Gear". Even though she claims it is for business, it could be for another reason..
Powers: She gains super-enhanced physical abilities by using her mutation by breaking down her possessions that are nearby/on person into nothing/dust. In most cases, the higher the value the item is means more strength gained from it. The possessions are broken down into a faint electricity-like energy before becoming dust as they are getting used. Two things Alex is unsure about her mutation are: If it is effected by worldly views or personal views, and why does it only work on things she "owns"
