History
First Generation
The original incarnation of the Ideals was founded by Benjamin Bentley. Having discovered a power to both traverse between and draw power from other dimensions, he took on the identity of the Multiverse Man and set out to recruit a team of heroes that he believed could overcome a potential threat that he saw in a precognitive vision.

"Ideals" Reforged
Years later, Matt Everett-- then homeless and destitute-- stumbled upon what remained of the Ideals' secret base. Matt's presence reactivated a badly damaged android, the original Engineered. Taking up an abandoned shield that would become his namesake, Matt vowed to assemble a new team that would honor its predecessor's commitment to heroism.
