Old Live Bio

Fed up with her fellow Peacebringers' discussion and lack of action when learning of the Nictus-infused Void Hunters, Starswarm left. She'd already lost family to these "corrupted" mercenaries.Taking up a new name, she vowed to take the fight to them, wherever they may be. She has vowed destruction of any Void Mercenary on sight - and has extended this 'kindness' to any Galaxy, or any bearing Quantum weapons. She has extender her fight to other "parasites" such as the Council and Circle. Forsaking her old life, she fights now - combined with her human partner, Diana Belrose - as the Peacebringer, Voidbane.

Biography

Kheldian

Starswarm

Starswarm shared the curiosity of many of her race. She quickly made friends with others, always looking for something new, interesting, wanting to find something that hadn't been seen before. She visited worlds of the Kheldian alliance, joining with beings to learn - always respectfully, but always enthusiastically and honestly wanting to preserve their knowledge. She became an unofficial ambassador of sorts, a friendly face (or at least friendly glowing puffball) of the Kheldians. She'd joined the Peacebringers, not to fight, but to help show that the Nictus were an aberration and to help repair the damage they had done.

She'd come to Earth early, before the Kheldians had truly established themselves. Found a human who was a "social worker," which sounded promising. Befriended the other Kheldians in her group. And started hearing rumors of some new abomination the Nictus were creating. Because of *course* they were here. Being Peacebringers, they had to investigate.

But they'd moved too soon. Council forces, still embedded in the Fifth Column at the time, captured the group and imprisoned them. While they considered using some for experiments, the order came to eliminate the group - Peacebringer and human alike - before they could be traced. But they would serve a purpose.

Starswarm watched as her friends were painfully murdered by some of the first Void hunters and Quantum weapons, only escaping due to a chance raid. She made her way to what Kheldian leadership existed on Earth at the time. Having her report ignored, being told what she was describing was not realistic - and anyway, stronger Peacebringer forces were still light-months away at best, and setting up an embassy was important - Starswarm became enraged. She promised to hunt these killers and those like them herself, if she had to. And having heard the name of these ... creatures, these Void Hunters, she took a new name that she would make them fear. Voidbane.

As Voidbane

Some felt something had broken inside Starswarm - not that she answered to that now. Where before she put all her energy into learning and helping, she now planned. She had a new sort of drive, one to stop the Nictus and their allies. One that made her focused - perhaps even reckless.

Some of the leadership saw this and tried to make use of it, but Voidbane didn't have a lot of faith in her higher ups and would routinely flaunt orders. She attracted some who were eager to fight. Others just saw her as reckless and hotheaded. She just saw herself as dedicated to getting a job done.

This included an early (and to some surprising) acceptance of the former Nictus who now called themselves Warshades. She found many of them as driven as she was, eager to right the wrongs they and others like them had done. Surprisingly, she acted as a brake for some of these 'traitors,' keeping them from doing things that would actually be suicidal in their need to prove themselves. Some of her old self came out, and for those Warshades that needed it she was an ear, a shoulder, a councilor.

And they knew that she'd always have their backs... so long as they didn't try to betray her.

Human

Diana Belrose was a driven young woman. She'd tried her hand at sports and, while an asset to her teams in high school basketball and volleyball, she gave it up. Yes, she was running around, but not doing anything of *worth.* She wanted to make her mark, make it early and lasting.

She took up causes. She tried to stick with them, but eventually they wanted her to help *organize.* Sit down and scribble some signs, print flyers. Maybe be a secretary. Maybe smile more. So she left as much as she found new ones, even through college. Fighting for rights, the environment, the homeless. She was working through college chemistry at the same time, figuring either she would help find medicines to make life better or explosives to make bad things go away. But the homeless cause, that stuck with her for once. And as she got better known among Paragon's displaced, they told her more. Rumors about disappearances, changed people at best if they came back - but they rarely did.

Diana had to follow up. Headstrong as always, she knew she could do ... something. Taking the path the tip led to, she came to an abandoned warehouse one night and just watched.

Meeting

The night was lit by little but a fire in a barrel. Diana watched as food and bottles were passed around a group of about fifteen, gathered for companionship and some shelter against the cooling weather. The moon was barely a sliver, the lights neglected and dark.

She caught movement, then. Something in the trees. She crept closer, watching as men in uniforms she'd seen in the city emerged. Some she'd seen in the city, at least. Others were new. She caught snatches of talk - about a takeover, about hosts, about others coming and cysts. And she watched as these armed men rushed the building from both sides, preparing to round up their victims.

Diana burned. She wanted to scream, to do something. Her nails drew blood, she was clenching her fist so tightly. She started recording what was happening so that somebody knew - but at the same time, these were the forgotten. The discards. Nobody would do anything.

"Want to stop them?"

Diana started at the voice, noticing the night was a little lighter. And for the first time, she met Voidbane. It took only minutes to agree to the merger, to *do something* where nobody else would or could.

The council weren't expecting to be attacked. The homeless, to be saved. Yet that's what happened that night.

After seeing the would-be victims to safety, Diana - Voidbane inside, the joined pair flying towards the city - went to find a quiet coffee shop and have a discussion with the being in her head. Finding a very kindred spirit, she agreed to the joining being permanent, a solid partnership between the two. And they would keep the name Voidbane.

She'd seen the Void Hunter in the Kheldian's mind. The name seemed a promise worth making...

Personality

Both Diana and Voidbane, separately and apart, are a bit rash. Driven, but hotheaded. Loyal to their friends, but they take betrayal and disappointment badly.
