Glacis (real name Wesarax "Wes" Golgaz) is an aspiring musician and part-time hero currently residing in Steel Canyon.
Backstory
Early years
Wes' parents moved to the mortal world before he was born, in hopes of giving their future child a better life than they had. As a result, Wes has lived among humans his whole life. He has never been to Hell, and he's not even sure if he would be allowed in. Even though he's grateful to live on Earth, he can't help but feel like an outsider to both humans and demons.
He has a criminal record, but it only contains one count of shoplifting he did as an angsty young teenager, and also that time he bought alcohol from a classmate in his middle school's bathrooms.
Present day
Wes currently lives in Steel Canyon, and is trying to get his big break as a bassist. He has a gig every other Saturday at a hipster coffee shop called Espresso Lane. To pay the bills, he does hero work for City Hall and also has a retail job at a record store. Even though his identity should be obvious to anyone who knows him, he's taken up the codename "Glacis" while crimefighting. He is not currently affiliated with any supergroup.
Personality
He's an easygoing and mellow guy, yet somewhat awkward around other demons since he doesn't know how to approach them. Naturally friendly, Wes likes helping people out, and is also a bit of a flirt to guys he finds attractive. He's a bit loose when it comes to romance, but recently he's started trying to get over his fear of commitment with a warshade he loves very dearly, Voidsong (real name Zane Corvega). In his spare time, he enjoys playing his bass guitar, wrestling, and going out to bars and nightclubs. He's currently training under a pro-wrestling legend known as El Lone Lobo (real name Bruno Cortez), who is also one of his closest friends.
Having been raised in Paragon City, his first language is English, and his accent is squarely in the region of "American surfer dude". He can also speak his parents' native tongue conversationally, which is a Russian-sounding dialect of an Infernal language.
Physiology
The white ice-like markings on his chest, upper arms, stomach and back (shown in the galleries below) are often mistaken for tattoos, but they are actually a form of vitiligo characteristic to his people. His ears, horns and tail are also very pale. To those that can detect it, Wes doesn't read as any more unholy or sinful than a normal human would, despite being a full demon. As a result, celestial artifacts don't affect him as badly as they affect other demons; for example, holy water only tingles and doesn't burn him.
Powers and abilities
Ice powers
Due to his heritage, Wes is adept in ice and water manipulation, able to freeze and liquefy it with some effort. He is also resistant to extreme temperatures, with a tolerance for both hot and cold that surpasses that of humans.
Demonic magic
He isn't entirely sure how to use actual magic yet, but he can sometimes make the shadows around him move if he concentrates particularly hard.
Notes
- His super suits are made of ice-infused fabric that he can draw from if he's in a pinch.
- His Void Skiff travel power is roleplayed as an ice platform or disk.
